MCCA, Midwestern Connecticut Council on Alcoholism, Inc., is the primary provider of substance abuse prevention, evaluation and treatment services in the greater Danbury area. MCCA was established in 1972 in response to regional needs for high quality professional services for individuals and their families suffering from alcohol and substance abuse.
Headquartered in Danbury CT, MCCA maintains locations in Danbury, New Milford, Bethel, Norwalk, Ridgefield and Sharon. MCCA primarily serves clients residing in Connecticut State Demographic Area Regions 1 and 5, encompassing the entire western portion of the state. These regions are economically and socio-demographically diverse, and include urban, suburban, and rural areas.
MCCA offers multi-lingual services in Spanish, Portuguese, French and Polish. Be sure to contact us, we can accommodate most language needs.
MCCA is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a 501(c)3 non-profit community-based organization and is licensed by the State of Connecticut and credentialed by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). MCCA is also an affiliate of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD).

MCCA's mission is "To provide HELP and instill HOPE for individuals, families and organizations working to overcome and prevent addictions, co-ocurring disorders and associated problems." Our vision is "To be the premier prevention and treatment organization in Western Connecticut by providing state-of-the-art programs designed to achieve measurable results that bring value to customers and partners."
MCCA presently offers a wide variety of services including outpatient, as well as short and long-term residential inpatient treatment. Our various programs service seniors, Latinos, women, family members, and others affected by alcohol and drug dependence. We also have an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), pre-employment drug testing, substance abuse prevention services, and we run the impaired driver (DWI) program for the Western Connecticut region. In addition, MCCA has two female adolescent residential programs, ART and New Dawn.

residential treatment programs (including specialized programs for adolescents and seniors, gambling, and detoxification)
a social setting detoxification program known as the Sobering Center
specialized services to the homeless at the Danbury City Shelter

We are proud of the quality services we provide to people with addictions and their families in our service area. MCCA is constantly striving to improve its efforts to reduce the devastating effects of active addictions.

Office hours for our Main office are Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Evening Programs in Danbury are available from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

At MCCA we participate in many managed care plans, and we also accept traditional insurance. Many insurance plans require that you make a co-payment at the time of your visit. To make it easy as possible for you, we accept cash, checks and most major credit cards. Some insurance plans may require that you obtain authorization from them before you visit us. Since this differs by plan, please check with your insurance company so you may receive complete benefits from your coverage.
MCCA also participates in the Connecticut General Assistance Behavioral Health Program.
