The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (CHH) has recently added a new walkway through its front circle green and auxiliary garden but with a special twist. Patrons and supporters will be able to purchase a brick and have it engraved with an individualized personal message. The money raised will support the hospitals ongoing fundraising efforts.

The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (CHH) has been busy developing and implementing a new Patient Care Support Network (PCSN) that utilizes the most advanced information technology available to improve patient safety and medical care. The hospitals fundraising efforts to support the project have received a major boost with the announcement that CHH recently exceeded $1,000,000 in donations and pledges as part of their multi-year giving campaign.
CHH Partners With Local Audubon Society To Help Save The American Chestnut Tree
Visitors over the summer to The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital may have noticed one of its American chestnut trees tucked in the corner of its parking lot had been wearing 15 paper bags like mittens. This is all part of a unique, multifaceted technique to pollinate and gather nuts from healthy trees in order to help save them from a threatening blight that has devastated the chestnut tree population since the early 1900s.
Technology improves image access and shortens exposure time for patients
The Charlotte Hungerfords Northwest Medical Walk-In Center has purchased and installed a new digital X-ray imaging system thanks to the proceeds of The Charlotte Hungerford Hospitals 9th Annual Golf Classic held this past June. The new FUJI System FCR XC-2 adds digital technology and capabilities to the centers existing X-Ray machine and has many advantages over traditional X-ray that benefit both healthcare providers with their diagnoses and more convenient and timely access for patients.
Center For Cancer Care Fund Recieves $2,200 Donation From Local Free Spirit Lady Harley Riders
Torrington based Free Spirit Lady Harley Riders Motorcycle Club has made a $2,200 donation to The Charlotte Hungerford Hospitals Center For Cancer Care Fund, Inc. This year is the sixth consecutive year the group has raised money for the fund, which uses donations to assist and support cancer patients residing or receiving care in Northwest Connecticut through care, treatment, education, and prevention programs.
Diabetes Talk Planned During National Diabetes Awareness Month
The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital will present Whats New In Diabetes?, a health talk on Wednesday, November 10th at 6:30 p.m. at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Memorial Conference Room, 540 Litchfield Street, Torrington.
