In February 2009, Stearns & Wheler, LLC, environmental engineers and scientists, joined forces with international professional services company GHD.
GHD, which has more than 6000 employees worldwide, already has offices in California, North Carolina and Washington. The merger will see the company expand its presence to Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio and Virginia. Stearns & Wheler President Jerry Hook will become President of GHD Inc., overseeing the company’s operations in the United States. GHD North America Manager, Don Graf, remains responsible for GHD in North America, including GHD Canada.
GHD is one of the world’s top engineering and architecture firms. Its offices in the United States are supported by an integrated network of more than 100 offices throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the Middle East, the Americas and Europe.
The company has provided asset management services to major utilities in California and North Carolina and conducts infrastructure asset management training seminars across the United States for the US Environmental Protection Agency. Stearns & Wheler is a privately held firm offering wastewater, water, infrastructure, information management solutions, asset management, industrial, municipal solid waste, environmental, and energy management services.
