J.D. Coopers is located southeast of downtown Putnam. It is a privately owned and operated restaurant since 1989. It was formerly The Stables Restaurant and the clubhouse for the Putnam Country Club Golf Course.
Our facility offers several uniquely different areas. The Dining Room has quiet corner tables for two and can accommodate gatherings for up to 150 people. The Boar's Head Tavern is a quaint lounge suited to quiet socializing and drinking. Our Sports Pub offers a dining area, large bar, several widescreen televisions to catch all your favorite sporting events and an outdoor deck. Also located within our sports pub is Winners home of the Connecticut OTB and the On the Wire phone betting service. Winners has set up a very large betting station and has a very friendly staff ready to assist you in placing your bets.
Our menu is extensive, including appetizers, salads, sandwiches and burgers, fresh fish and seafood, steaks and on Friday & Saturday evenings, we offer prime rib which was voted the best in Windham County by Connecticut Magazine.
